Renewal of permission to remain for Beneficiaries of the Afghan Admission Programme
Non-nationals who entered the State as a Beneficiary of the Afghan Admissions Programme may now be eligible to renew their permission independent of their Sponsor. They may apply via Immigration Service Delivery’s online renewal portal, subject to the below eligibility requirements.
This new independent permission is renewable every 2 years subject to your adherence to the below-listed conditions.
You may be eligible to renew under independent Stamp 4 conditions if:
- You previously entered and have resided continuously in the State as a Beneficiary of the Afghan Admission Programme
- Your most recently issued Irish Residence Permit card issued on the basis of registering as a Beneficiary of the Afghan Admission Programme
- You have not subsequently registered under a different basis
- You have not been absent from the State for a period longer than 90 days in any rolling year
- You adhered to the conditions of your permission to remain, including that you have not come to the adverse attention of An Garda Siochana
- You have not previously applied for international protection
- You do not have an existing application for international protection
- You are not subject to a proposal to deport or subject to Deportation Order or another applicable Removal Order

To submit an application to renew online the following options should be selected
- Stamp 4
- I have been granted Permission to Remain based on a letter from the Department of Justice/ Immigration Service Delivery (This option does not apply to applicants with permission letters granted by The International Protection Office).
- Upload a copy of your original Afghan Admission Programme letter
- The registration fee applies
